Pet Passports

All pets travelling to the EU from the UK require a Pet Passport.

Pet Passport for Overseas Pet Travel

It is quite a simple procedure and your vet will be able to do this for you:

  • Microchip insertion
  • Rabies vaccination
  • 21 days after the vaccination, your pet is free to travel to countries within the EU

(Please note that the chip MUST be inserted BEFORE the rabies vaccination but both can be done at the same vet’s visit)

All that will be required is a Pet Passport showing microchip and rabies vaccination details.
Pets arriving from some “non-EU” countries will need a blood test for rabies at least 3 months before arrival in the UK. These are known as “non-approved” countries. If in doubt, please contact us.
